ABSTRACT
The forecasting of demand for water in advance is critical for water supply planning. This paper analyzes water consumption by industry in China. With multiple regression analysis, time series analysis, and expert experience methods, the water demand from industry in China in 2020 was forecast. The results show that, without the COVID-19 out broke the total demand for water in China in 2020 will be about 599.01 billion m3, a slight decrease of 1.44 billion m3 compared with 2019. Among these, agricultural water demand will account for about 60.2%, and industrial water demand will account for about 20.6%. For domestic and environmental water demand, the proportions will be 15.2% and 4.0%, respectively.
