(p. 231) International trade has great benefit considering the tremendous profits it involves. The intense conflicts and acute competition among the superpowers is for the sole reason of the acquisition of new markets and the retention of old markets in which their merchandise is marketed and from which raw materials are imported without obstacle. This demonstrates the significance of such markets.
