Transport And Communications

The overland communications of the Region are slight. The Siberian railway and the traffic through West Asia are minor factors. Ocean traffic remains the main determinant of development, despite increasing activities within the national boundaries. For the developing countries of the Region this is one of the main aspects of dependence on foreigners – on the Western countries and Japan.
