ABSTRACT

It is well-known that learning a second language contributes to the development of the whole person. Typically, learning a second language takes place in several ways, i.e. it is carried out under the so-called “cone of rays”, which impacts the development of the second language competence: system of elements and rules of combination (sounds, words, grammar, and syntax), linguistics, culture, study of society and area, development of cognitive activity, and the formation of the intellectual potential of the individual. Scholars (Nation, 2001; Waring, 2002) have always paid great attention to the popular methodology for learning a second language, which was focused on grammar and sentences first and then on vocabulary. Later, emphasis was made in favor of the selection of the most frequently used and useful words, as the most significant ones for the disclosure of a topic.
