ABSTRACT
As we have discussed throughout this book, the contexts in which the intergenerational transmission of education takes place do not exist in isolation and the model described in this book portrays some of the main interactions between them. Families, pre-school and school environments, as well as neighbourhoods and peer groups, all influence the lives of individuals and the interactions between these developmental settings are vital in determining children’s educational success.
