Researching Teaching and Learning in Higher Education The aim of this book is to provide a sufficient basis for each method covered to support readers to use it straightaway. Because methods need to be underpinned by theory, I have given equal weight in each chapter to theoretical concerns as well as to practical steps. Methods are never neutral tools and good research requires an engagement with their theoretical underpinning.
