ABSTRACT

Hegel was as concerned as any philosopher with practical and ethical questions, with questions about how one ought to live and with the ways in which such questions can be answered. In his mind, however, these questions are closely intertwined with logical, epistemological and theological questions. Moreover, whatever may have been the original motivation of his work, in his mature system logic is the central and dominant element. It is from this point of view, therefore, that his ethical doctrines will be considered.
