ABSTRACT

At music industry conferences across the globe, industry analysts and professionals focus on change. It considers the music industry in other world territories and how their music industry structures have evolved, as many differ from the developed music industry models in territories. World governments can steer the music industry by their approach to their own home-grown music cultures by supporting home content laws, whereby a set percentage of local or national music can be supported through mainstream media exposure. The future of the music industry does not lie purely in the hands of music creators, performers, producers, promoters and investors in musical talent, as the industry relies heavily on entrepreneurial music venturists, technologists and strategists to make music a sustainable profitable entity. Generally independent music venturists would be in favour of change in the developed music industry model, whereby a fairer system would exist in a world that would see even greater chances for independent product exposure.
