ABSTRACT

Our purpose for writing this book has been to demonstrate the connections among the many worlds of distributed learning and the many worlds of writing across the curriculum (WAC) and writing in the disciplines (WID). We believe that distributed learning and writing pedagogy have much to offer one another. Conversations and excursions across the borders of these two important initiatives in higher education can have a positive impact on faculty, students, and administrators. In this chapter, we look at reasons to strengthen the connections.
