Game Creek Bowl derives its name from the creek that drains the area and because it was for years the "meat market" for the nearby mining towns. The Ute Indians had known of the abundance of wildlife in Game Creek Bowl for generations. Game Creek Bowl has a series of interpretive signs that are located along the access road to Lost Boy and down that run to the bottom of the bowl. Game Trail winds gently toward the bottom of Game Creek Bowl until it intersects Ouzo. At this juncture ski have the option of skiing the bottom of Ouzo if ski are at least an intermediate skier. Jouflas, a Greek sheep rancher who held the land near the bottom of the bowl. Displaying a bottle of the Greek liqueur Ouzo, Jouflas announced he wasn't leaving until they had finished the bottle and completed the contract settling the question of the lower Game Creek Bowl area.
