ABSTRACT

The process of change is ongoing in all of us. It is not possible to interact with one’s environment, family friends, and patients without there being some impact. To identify a patient-therapist situation that produced a particular change in the therapist, and to examine the process of that change has, therefore, required considerable soul-searching and analysis. To understand the impact the patient had on me requires me to set this in the context of my life. Selfdisclosure, however, is not easy and it is with some trepidation that I share my history with you.
