ABSTRACT

Atomic Mass Unit (amu) By definition the mass of 12C is 12 amu. In this convention, 1 amu = 1.66×10−27 kg = 931.5 MeV/c2.

Avogadro’s Constant (NA) This specifies the number of atoms or molecules in a one mole (kilo-mole) content of monatomic elements or polyatomic compounds. Numerically, NA = 6.023 × 1023/mol. Here, mole is the weight in grams numerically equal to the molecular weight of the substance.
