ABSTRACT
Sir Stanley Rous lived a stimulating but lonely life. For most of his career with the English FA and at the helm of FIFA his wife was an invalid, but he left her at home as he travelled the world spreading the gospel of the game. Work was Stanley’s passion and football was his work.
