ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1 we examined various attempts to define and conceptualise hate crime, and suggested that the outcomes of these would have considerable bearing on just how much hate crime there is in society. With this issue firmly in mind, in this chapter we shall explore various attempts to measure the extent of hate crime victimisation and examine the many complexities associated with doing so.
