ABSTRACT
The sexual abuse of children has long been associated with adult male homosexuality. The title of this chapter implicitly alludes to that purported association. The argument has typically been that adult male homosexuals are particularly and strongly attracted to young boys and, thus, are inclined to initiate unwelcome sexual advances with them. The inference has often been, therefore, that adult male homosexuals are a major factor in the problem of child molestation. Any work that purports to deal with child sexual abuse must, therefore, address this issue and attempt to determine what association, if any, exists between homosexuality and child sexual abuse.
