Thisismodelledontheideaofastillphotograph,perhapsan automaticportrait,orbetterstillanX-ray(theskeletonof society).Manyconceptionsofanimageofsocietysuggestan ideaoffixity,oftenofpermanence,atleastofcrystallisation foraquiteconsiderableperiod.Thisisnotnecessarilyproduced intoovisibleamanner,sinceonecanstillpresentavarietyof quasiphotographs,suchasanevolutionaryseries(asinafamily photographalbum).Itinvolvesalongitudinalapproach.
