ABSTRACT
Global forecast of ERP/MES/SCADA market development is highly promising in the context of American “smart factory” or German “Industry 4.0” concepts. From a business management perspective, a practical question arises, how the IT solutions support internationally recognized management concepts – lean and six sigma. In this chapter, the authors have analyzed 48 leading ERP systems sold on the Polish market to answer this question. The results showed what lean six sigma–related functionalities are proposed by the compared systems, providing valuable insights both for six sigma practitioners and for IT specialists who will be embarking on the lean six sigma implementation.
