ABSTRACT

Vibroacoustics are a good tool for machinery and equipment condition assessment. The paper explains the origins and sources of vibroaccoustics and their industrial applications. It then The reviews application of vibroaccoustic to quantification of wear in lignite mining machinery and in particular in chain and bucketwheel excavators. In addition it outlines methods that can be used to reduce noise and vibration in such machinery illustrated by several case studies taken from actual engineering practice.
