ABSTRACT
Mayrambek is my former classmate and is based in my home village Ak-Talaa, in the Kochkor rayon. He and his brother Süyünbek grew up in my neighbourhood and socialized with us. I conducted first a one-to-one interview with Mayrambek (3 September 2011) and then a group-conversation with him, his wife Gülzat, and his father Sheyshenbek Ata (11 September 2011).
