ABSTRACT

Description: Infanrix Hexa is a combined vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis and Hib. It is a combination of vaccines already approved in the E.U. Infanrix Hexa consists of diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, three pertussis antigens (pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, and pertactin), the major surface antigen of the hepatitis B virus obtained by recombinant DNA technology, inactivated polioviruses (IPV) (types 1, 2, and 3), and Hib polysaccharide. Infanrix Hexa is presented as a suspension, containing diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, and poliomyelitis components, which is used to resuspend the lyophilized H. influenzae component before administration as an intramuscular injection.
