ABSTRACT

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is an individual’s free behavior that can improve effective functioning and organizational efficiency. This study aims to examine the effect of clan culture on OCB with affective organizational commitment as an intervening variable. This study involved 54 people as respondents. Data were obtained through observation and questionnaire distribution, which were then analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) and Sobel tests to test the mediating effect. The results show that the clan culture has a significant positive effect on affective commitment, and affective commitment has a significant positive effect on OCB both OCB-I and OCB-O. Affective commitment proved to have a full mediating effect on the influence of clan culture on organizational citizenship behavior. This implication shows that affective commitment is one of the important elements to be considered in an effort to improve the OCB of employees in an organization.
