ABSTRACT
With the emphasis on a whole set of precursory phenomena, begun in the post-war period and based on a highly mediated consumer society, where the individual continues his/her incessant search for personal fulfilment, the contemporary city is probably now beginning a new hypermodern era, in which the contributions of a reformist Modernity, highly discussed during the 60 s, gave place to more dynamic, inclusive and sensible, characteristics of the Postmodernity.
