ABSTRACT
All sketches in the process will be deemed as the measurement objects during the design information review. Studies show that obvious dierences exist in the sketch interactions between close distance and long distance. Sketches can be better completed with face-face communication. Instant messaging usually leads to inadequate interaction and even zero interaction. However, some studies demonstrate that instant messaging is better than face-to-face communication for the innovative task of “brainstorming”. As a result, the following hypotheses are put forward: H2a: Dierent ways of communication cause significant dierences to the number of sketches completed by the design team. H2b: Dierent ways
of communication cause significant dierences in refinement degree of sketches.
