ABSTRACT

This chapter asks some key questions about what is often called the ‘knowledge society’ in which we live, and how that impacts on our students, and us as teachers. It goes on to suggest that a key feature of PCE should be the development of ‘information literacy’, which can help us empower our students and ourselves by using and actively managing information, rather than letting it overwhelm us. The chapter closes with a checklist and thinking point designed to help us all develop and improve our information literacy.
