ABSTRACT
Responding to COVID-19 has been a “major test” of China’s social governance system and governance capacity, and the institutional advantages and spiritual strength in China’s fight against COVID-19 are a beneficial instrument for achieving significant strategic results in epidemic control, showing the world Chinese speed, efficiency, and strength. Seen from China’s vivid practice therein, the fundamental political advantage of the CPC’s centralized and unified leadership, the institutional advantage of concentrating resources on major issues, and the clear-cut advantage of being centered on the people have become effective institutional positions for the final victory over the virus. Moreover, the Chinese patriotic devotion accumulated for millennia and the Chinese solidarity and struggle have provided great endogenous strength for this final victory. A deep understanding of the institutional advantages and spiritual strength in China’s fight against COVID-19 is of far-reaching practical significance for strengthening confidence in China’s system and culture, and deepening Chinese patriotism.
