ABSTRACT

Sustainability is an important issue in executive leadership. The sustainability imperative is presenting both challenges and opportunities for companies. Competing companies are at the heart of a web of laws, rules, contracts and norms that, as a supplement to basic moral standards, constrain the otherwise unlimited pursuit for expansion and profits. Chief Executive Officers (CEO) succession has been commonly viewed as an important mechanism for organizational learning and adaptation. Transparency in Board work is important to prevent financial crime. Transparency is to be found in information flows and decision making. Corporate governance is the systems and structures through which companies are directed and run. An important goal of corporate governance is to reduce the risk of economic crime. The concept of governance deals with several normative principles including accountability, transparency, participation, responsiveness, equity and the rule of law. Integrity and accountability of police officers is essential to public confidence in law enforcement.
