ABSTRACT

The International Center could, as did the National Audio-visual Center, prepare a catalogue, seek materials on a non-discriminatory basis, and provide materials for loan or purchase at cost or, depending on foundation or the audio-visual production industry’s largesse, on a subsidized basis. Many national organizations actively seek inter-cultural relationships with other countries and find themselves doing so on a one-to-one basis. The Adolf Grimme Institut of the Federal Republic Germany is a prodigious producer, distributor and researcher of educational telecommunications materials. In May, 1983, the Adolf Grimme Institut, Germany’s Goethe Institute, and Emerson College co-sponsored an inter-cultural think-tank conference on Telecommunications and Adult Education at Emerson College in Boston. The International Center would have to be set up as a truly free source of exchange, with the governments of the organizations participating agreeing to permit an open exchange of educational materials.
