ABSTRACT
The chapter provides the introduction to Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA) developed by Dassault Systemes, France. The chapter also provides the basic system requirements to ensure the smooth running of CATIA V5 on any system. The chapter then briefly explains the various types of documents associated with the software like CAT Part, CAT Product, CAT Drawing, CAT Analysis, CAT Material and Catalog. Although CATIA V5 is more popularly known for its icon-driven structure yet, keys on the keyboard can also be used to invoke some tools. These keys, known as hot keys, are also provided in the chapter. The chapter concludes with the functions of mouse and keyboard and various workbenches available in the software.
