ABSTRACT
In viewing the coaching relationship through the conceptual lens of an interpersonal perspective, this chapter advances a rationale for the special significance of appreciating and understanding the coaching relationship context in which the individual coachee is embedded. Implications of such an interpersonal perspective are that the actions and properties of both partners in the dyad determines their interpersonal reaction.1
