ABSTRACT
This introductory chapter describes the context to the book, highlighting the issues with traditional events and conferences, and how the authors applied playful principles to the design of such events. It provides an overview of the chapter themes, and highlights the usefulness of the book for practitioners working in education, business and community training roles.
