ABSTRACT
Suicide attacks appeared in their present form only at the beginning of the 1980s, but in the past twenty-five years, they have proven to be one of the most efficient and least expensive tactics ever to be employed by terror and guerrilla groups. It is no wonder, therefore, that in a relatively short time, this method of operation has been adopted by 32 groups in 28 countries.
