The book explores the relation of the critical and historical and theoretical lineage of remix to the technological production that makes contemporary forms of communication and creativity possible. It explains the many variables that historically inform the concept of the author by highlighting how remix and its preceding forms have continually disrupted the concept of the individual creator.
