Introduction

Chapter 1 begins by defining networks and network governance, followed by a discussion of the rise of, and the growing demand for, network governance. We then define the key concepts in network governance, propose a theoretical framework to organize the relevant literature, and conclude this chapter with the organization and aims of the book.
