Table 16.1 contains an orthogonal array. It is presented exactly as in Taguchi's publications. You can see that it has eight rows and seven columns, and that each column contains four l ' s and four 2's. If you selected any two columns from Table 16.1 and calculated their correlation coefficient you would find that it was equal to zero. If you calculated the mean for each column you would find that all the column means were equal. Perhaps you recall similar tables in earlier chapters of this book.
