ABSTRACT
Intuition is somewhat like a black cat in a dark room. This chapter explains how intuition works and why it is of critical importance to leaders in the twenty-first century. It distinguishes between head (thinking), heart (feeling and emotional) and hands (action) capabilities enabled by intuitive intelligence. The intuitive leaders are called the Sensors because they have their ‘antennae’ finely-tuned to pick up signals about underlying realities which are not always accessible through the senses and logical reasoning. People are all intuitive and they can all develop their intuition further through practices such as spotting synchronicities, practising mindfulness, dream incubation, less reliance on others’ opinions, setting healthy boundaries, and spending time in nature. The chapter discusses the gifts and capabilities of intuitively intelligent leaders, and clarifies the difference between intuition and instinct, how intuition relates to artificial intelligence, the physiology of intuition, and how intuition relates to the lesser known quantum realm.
