ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the inversion of cone-beam data based on cone-beam transform. It also discusses the inversion of incomplete cone-beam data based on inversion formulae. The chapter provides an exact reconstruction algorithm for the cone-beam circle geometry. The solid cone of X-rays emanates from a point-source, illuminates a specimen, and projects on a detector array. The chapter develops an exact inversion algorithm for the protocol, which is convenient for numerical implementation, because the three-dimensional problem is reduced to a set of one-dimensional equations. It discusses one of the most popular protocols of cone-beam tomography, and provides a sufficient condition for a linear operator to be a convolution.
