ABSTRACT
Investigating healthcare fraud Healthcare fraud is an enormous problem in the Unites States costing billions of wasted dollars as well as placing the health and safety of patients at risk. As medical board investigators, we should seek to participate and assist other primary investigative agencies in stemming this problem. Healthcare fraud is rampant among both public and private healthcare benefit programs with Medicare and Medicaid perhaps being the most visible in that these programs are publicly funded.
