ABSTRACT
The Celestial Church of Christ originated in the Republic of Benin, West Africa nearly 60 years ago. It spread to Nigeria and I joined it there. I have been a member of the Church for about 37 years and it has had a presence in Britain for about 32 years of them. Although I am Nigerian by birth I have lived in Britain for 34 years. I am a nurse, a general nurse trained in Nigeria but also trained as a psychiatric nurse in Britain. I am currently practising as a psychiatric social worker, taking part in mental health assessments of clients with or without admissions to hospital, in the community and in the hospital as well.
