ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION This chapter describes a short-term project involving co-operative working in sessions between an art therapist, a dramatherapist and a music therapist. The idea was discussed by therapists in the TAITH1 Arts Therapies Service for some time before it became a reality. Whilst such joint working has taken place elsewhere, it was the first time such an approach had been adopted within TAITH. As the idea developed, it took on a particular importance to team members. Thoughts were prompted not only about the needs of clients, but also about the nature of the media used by practitioners within the different arts therapies professions. The history of this Assessment Group project is described below, from its inception to the culmination of the first group which actually met.
