ABSTRACT

Key person activities are designed to help promote the relationship and connection between the child and their key person. They can also help to increase understanding between two people, by encouraging connections that would usually take place naturally when the child is a baby. By revisiting these important stages, even though later on, we can support the children as they begin to build skills they may not have developed at an earlier age. Have regular ‘check ins’ with the child throughout the day at pre-agreed times, particularly around times of transition, which can be stressful for some children. Spend time wondering, with the child, what others may be feeling.
