ABSTRACT

The kinetics of the interaction between fluorite and aqueous solution could be investigated by applying of FT - IR spectroscopy. UV spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). Authors observe the variation in FT - IR spectra and the XPS spectra of the reaction products with time evolution and investigate the modifications of the surface structure and composition of the mineral after reacted with a liquid phase. It has been found that the interface kinetics conducted the spatial and temporal non-linear characters that reveal the chemical instability of the reaction between fluorite and aqueous solutions.
