ABSTRACT
One fallacy of leadership is that the individual should know it all or be proficient in every area of leadership. Sally Helgesen, leadership and communication expert shared her ideas on seeking help by sharing: it's important to recognize that one need to seek help. Mentoring today seems to be novice leaders seeking too much help, or hand-holding, and then not heeding the advice of their mentors, although some young leaders feel like they don't need any help because they are in a leadership role. Young people also seem like to feel that the whole job of becoming successful is finding the right mentor or sponsor. Fawn Germer, leadership expert, shared her insight on seeking help as a leader. A leader knows who to go to for help and does it before the problem gets worse. While they tend to make heroes out of individual leaders, the best leaders know that leadership requires teamwork and trust.
