ABSTRACT

the construction of new high-speed freight railway line between Milan and Genoa, the “Terzo Valico dei Giovi”, implied the installation of 12 operational sites supporting the works development along the project alignment. Fegino jobsite, the southernmost one, serves the works of 12 km of the line, mostly underground, creating a complex system of different type of tunnels and several bypasses. The jobsite, located in Genoa district, has been settled in a heavily urbanized area. Because of the morphology and territory accessibility, the installation of the jobsite for a big infrastructure has been an adverse activity. It has been necessary to face and solve several problems in order to start and carry on works through technical and operational complex solutions that improve the organization of the works and reduce the initial estimated completion time.
