ABSTRACT
In what follows the magnitude of the shock of the Great Depression to Latin America will, first, be documented. Secondly, the policies adopted to cope with the crisis will be discussed. Then the performance of various Latin American economies will be explored, and the sense in which they did reasonably well will be analyzed. Sundry observations will close the chapter.
