ABSTRACT
As the Internet expands its functions, the power of libraries’ online catalogs grows stronger. In this chapter, two categories of libraries are introduced: universities or research institute libraries, and virtual libraries. The Web sites of universities or research institutes provide free online catalog searches. Usually there is an introduction to the traditional medicine database on the library’s homepage. Moreover, some library Web sites offer additional services. For example, the library of Guangzhou University of TCM provides free “Video on Demand,” in which seminars are recorded and put online for public view. Among the video clips available, many are lectures on Traditional Chinese Medicine. The library of Shanghai University of TCM also serves as an information center.
