ABSTRACT
Rendering software is application-specifi c software designed to emulate the lighting and refl ectance of materials in the model, providing a photorealistic illustration of the lighting and set. Many lighting design software packages have rendering capabilities, but some lighting designers prefer to use stand-alone rendering software such as 3D Studio VIZ. In either case a 3D virtual model must fi rst be drawn before it can be rendered.
