ABSTRACT
Light or photons interact with materials in very specižc ways. This interaction depends upon the properties of both the material and the light and how this light is delivered. Important properties include wavelength, intensity, material absorption (at a specižc wavelength), material thickness, and optical conžguration. This chapter discusses material-light interactions in detail.
