ABSTRACT
The vast majority of quantitative LC analyses are carried out using the simple, basic liquid chromatograph. It follows that the first priority of this discussion will be to describe the essential parts and function of the basic LC instrument. Subsequently, a more sophisticated form of the liquid chromatograph will be considered and its relevance to quantitative LC analysis will be reviewed.
