ABSTRACT

Strategy development beats any other subject when it comes to management lingo and model talk. It is often assumed that without a strategy an organization will not survive in the long run. After all, professional organizations are confronted with long-term trends that can have a major impact on their functioning. The ageing of the population will change the nature of healthcare, and massification has changed the nature of education – and will change it even further. Sectors that are confronted with such developments have to analyse them and develop a strategic response.
