ABSTRACT

The world has encountered profound and unprecedented transformations in its natural and social environments. Technological innovations have dramatically altered the way in which we live. Due to this environmental transformation, changes in the patterns and distribution of human disease were inevitable. Many interdependent variables create a propensity for particular patterns of disease by human behaviors and natural changes. 1 The variables are woven together into multi-dimensional networks, comprised of the genetic features of diseases and geographic distribution, which in turn has greatly infl uenced the survival of certain pathogens and decision-making in people’s daily lives. Generally speaking, human activity has altered virtually every aspect of ecological systems in unprecedented ways. This chapter will explore the possible relationship between environmental exploitation and the outbreak of epidemic diseases in the Kaoping river 檀⯷㹒 basin .
